When you are starting a new business you want to shout it from the roof tops with excitement to let everyone know about your new venture, but sadly most startups don’t have much of a marketing budget if any, so here are a few tips to start you off.


Meeting local businesses at networking events can be daunting but if you find the right networking group for you, it can be a great way to cast your net wider than you’d think. This is because once you are settled into a regular meeting you will find that your new contacts will also spread the word and a referral is the best form of advertisement. Get social & sharing

Get your business on social media if you’re not already, the three best platforms for business are Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. An app to plan your posts makes life easier, I’d recommend Buffer. Once you are up and running join business groups where the members have interests related to your products and services and then get sharing your page, a special offer always makes promoting easier.

DIY Flyers

If you don’t have professional photos of your business offering then set up your own photo shoot. Once you have the images you can create your own multi image with text on the app Canva. As we were saying earlier, referrals are the best form of advertising, so let’s not forget about the virtual world.
