About our Founder, Emmajane

Having completed a law degree too many years ago to count, I quickly realised that the law was not the career path for me. While I took some time to decide what it was I wanted to do, I became an estate agent in London. I really enjoyed working in property but knew it wasn't where I wanted to be long-term. This experience taught me a lot about perseverance and adaptability.

Discovering a Passion for Recruitment

Within a year, I started a career in recruitment and quickly realised that I had found my feet. The fast-paced, varied nature of the business suited me, and I enjoyed working with people excited to find a new role. Equally, I loved working with businesses seeking to grow their teams and expand. Recruitment taught me so much about connecting with people and understanding business needs.

Embracing a New Vision

By the time I was 30, I was running my own agency, but life changed after having a child. I realised I was facing burnout and that all the things I loved about recruitment were no longer playing to my advantage. Consequently, I knew I needed a new career path.

At this time, I noticed a shift in how businesses were consuming office space in London. Companies were beginning to follow the American trend set by trailblazer "WeWork" in creating co-working spaces where business owners could work and network simultaneously. It was clear that this was the future, but it wasn't something widely available outside of the cities in the UK. This inspired me to embrace this innovative concept and bring it to new audiences.

Our Journey Begins

So we moved to bigger premises in Wrexham and Home of Offices was born in 2017.

It does feel as though my career so far has brought me to this point, the love of property and interior design, understanding start-up life and businesses across many sectors.

The excitement in new business owners and the possibilities which lie ahead when they can see how Home of Offices can take them into the next stage of that journey, this is what makes my role worthwhile.
